Going strong or giving up?

I've got a busy day planned, so this is a quick post about television.

I've mentioned before I'm hooked on Studio 60 (and it just keeps getting better and better!).

I heard that they ordered three more scripts, so they're not canceling it yet (yay!), and the show won a "Save an Endangered TV Show" poll on E!

I've sort of backed off on HEROES because the plot seems to be moving at the most turtle-like pace, although I'll probably go back and catch up because I do have all the shows taped, and I heard that Sean Bean will be joining the cast...that alone is reason to catch up.

So, back to my quick question: what TV shows are you still hooked on, and which ones do you think are fading fast, losing your interest, jumping the shark?

I caught Heroes for the first time this past Monday and it didn't grab me. I was lost, confused, and nothing really happened. Everyone I've talked to said it was the worst episode thus far and for me to give it another shot. (If Sean Bean joins the cast, I'll definitely give it another chance!!)

I'm still hooked on Lost. Love love love the show!!!

WHAT!!?? They are thinking of cancelling Studio 60?? I love that show so far. I wish that their website had an episode guide though so I knew if I'd missed one. I never seem to catch it on the same day.

What else am I hooked on? For new shows Brothers & Sisters and Six Degrees. So far, loving them both. And for older shows I'm still stuck to Grey's Anatomy, House and Bones. God damn it, there's way to much good stuff on TV this year.

i have been watching The Nine, but it's starting to drag out.. i may be dropping it soon.
and up until this season, i've loved Desperate Housewives. that show has gotten stale for me too.
(i dropped Prison Break this season too.. even tho the 2 main guys are drool-worthy)

Hooked on: House, Heroes, Bones, The Closer, The Wire, Men in Trees, Ugly Betty.

Jumped the shark: Lost (but I'm still watching)

I also watch a lot of BBCA, like Wire in the Blood, Mile High, Hex, Love Soup. I still love all of those.

If Sean Bean joins Heroes, I'm getting TV. OMG, LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM.

I'm sticking with Veronica Mars, though I'm not certain if I like the College Years.

Studio 60 has lost me. Bleh.

I just started wtching Ugly Betty and I love it. So funny. So outlandish. Of course, I was always a sucker for the over-the-top telenovella thing, so I see why I love it. All the characters are very interesting and multi-faceted. It's well done AND cheesy,a dn that's hard to pull off.

Sean Bean is joining Heroes?! No WAY!!! Awesome :-)

I'm living for the day when the whole Fellowship will be on different tv shows at the same time. Already got Merry, possibly Boromir...yum!

I am so hooked on Studio Sixty. I love it! But I have to say I've been hearing they are sucking out in the ratings and getting worse every week. But Hey at least we know know that they have three viewers.

Ugly Betty and The Office are also good.

I'm still really rooting for Studio 60, and still liking Heros.

I wish there were more good comedies on, but I LOVE How I Met Your Mother. I've yet to see Ugly Betty--will have to give it a try.

Well, now that I got everyone riled up about Sean Bean on HEROES, I just have to say...I heard it was true...I hope it is!

And, yeah, the ratings for Studio 60 aren't that great, but the people who love it really love it (moi included), so I'm hoping more people catch on.

The thing about Studio 60 that I think they changed, to their benefit, is that it's less about the actual show within the show, and more about the personal interactions among the characters--along with some interesting social commentary.

They stopped trying to give us SNL-lite and are giving us a drama instead, with an SNL-kind of background.

My girlfriend, Mia, and I both adore Studio 60, and we were both praying on hands and knees that it wouldn't get cancelled. The show is so smart, and the acting is phenomenal! We were so thrilled to see it keep going!

I am disappointed at the decision to move Kidnapped to Saturday evenings. I realize that that means it will probably not be returning, but to replace it with more useless episodes of Medium is outrageous! The only reason Kidnapped did not do well is because of how it was billed in the beginning. Also, the rumors of how the show would be formatted, i.e., one character's perspective per episode concerning the same event, were not true, yet those very rumors kept people from not watching.

I enjoy Heroes, but I agree with you, Colleen: It is moving at a snail's pace. Many people think that a show like this is original, but I see it as more a combination of The 4400 and Lost. It may not focus on humans from the future, but it certainly does play on the idea of numerous people having special abilities and having a war brought against them, i.e., The 4400. As for it being like Lost, the show attempts to have the same mystique coupled with cliffhanger endings. Original? Hardly, but definitely entertaining nonetheless.

I've caught some of HEROES and really want to watch it, but keep missing it. Sean Bean? *drool*

I'm loving Shark, Men in Trees and Ugly Betty.

Gave up on LOST. They lost me. And my patience.

Still madly in love with Grey's Anatomy.

Tape: The Office, Studio 60, Brothers & Sisters, Grey's Anatomy

If I'm home I watch (lesser status than taping): Men In Trees

Grey's may be slipping into the if at home category.

Brother's & Sisters has really been a pleasant surprise for me. Love how Sally Field totally hams it up every episode!

My son loves Studio 60, so we're still watching that. Heroes does need to pick up. Lost is getting on my nerves, but my son loves that one, too. I didn't watch all of The Nine this week, but it was the first day of Nano. I like Jericho, though, dang, it's slower than Heroes. I didn't like this week's Standoff. I usually like the smart relationship there, but it was missing. Grey's wasn't good this week, either, but next week looks hopeful.

Gilmore Girls, Boston Legal, and ER jumped the shark for me this year. I still watch Gilmore Girls & Boston Legal, but I gave up entirely on ER. Rather, I record them on DVR and pretty much FF through the whole thing.

I'm hooked on Cold Case, What About Brian, Studio 60, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, and Desperate Housewives (although this one is starting to jump).

I wondered about that aspect of Studio 60 in the beginning, I enjoyed the first two episodes but I did find that they were too focused on the actual show itself, rather than the people around it. I wanted more information on the characters and their lives, which we are starting to see now.
