Which comes first: the shoes or the dress?
Usually, when I have to find (read: buy) something for a special event, I pick out the dress first.But yesterday was a first for me. I was shopping for something completely different (sneakers for my son) and I saw a pair of shoes that I had to have. I have nothing to wear with them, but I bought them anyway since I have a wedding this weekend, and the RWA National Conference in little more than a week. I figured I could find something to go with the shoes.
So...how does it work for you? The dress first, or the shoes? Or some other accessory--scarf, wrap, necklace...?
(PS: that's my precocious five year old daughter modeling the shoes in question.)

I'm a HUGE shoe person!!! I'll confess... sometimes I just buy the shoes because they're too darn cute to pass up. If I can't find something to match the new shoes exactly, I'll make do with something black and white, then tie in accessories to help.

OMG! Those shoes are delicious!!!! I can see why you bought them, and I deeply suspect you'll find the perfect thing to wear with them - you have to, because not wearing those shoes would be a sin. And I know you're not a sinner. Much. Ahahahahahaha!!!!

I must confess......I have bought more than one pair of shoes then had to shop like a fiend for an outfit to match.
Those shoes are too cute! Can't wait to see them at National.
Hmmm...a very deep, deep question, Colleen. I would usually say the outfit first and then the shoe, but then I have so many shoes that I'll use with different outfits. I admit that I've been looking for RITA/GH shoes since the event last year. Found several pair that I loved that were these stilettos, but after breaking my foot and it needing a full 6 months to heal (bleck), I had to readjust my high heeled aspirations and get some lower heels. So, in this case, I got the shoes first and then found a dress that would go with many of the shoes I have.
I must admit, I'm totally IN LOVE with my new shoes. May I share?

For the PP party? I'm wearing this black and white sheer shirt and a black skirt and some fab shoes. Is that too dressy? Should I wear pants?

I have several pair of shoes that I bought because I loved, then have to dig for something to wear with them.
